GREGORIAN MASTERS OF CHANT
Frank Peterson’s idea might have sounded strange, but it worked. A Gregorian choir sings modern pop songs, arranged in the style of the chants sung by medieval monks. NITZER EBB
With an unusual name, Teutonic beats and aggressive sound, it is often assumed that Nitzer Ebb originated within the German techno scene, but the truth of the matter is that this trio hailed from the UK, Chelmsford in Essex to be precise. Formed in 1982 by school friends Douglas McCarthy [Lead vocals, guitar], Vaughan 'Bon' Harris [vocals, percussion, guitars] and David Gooday, [percussion], Nitzer Ebb were influenced by the harder sounds of the early techno pop scene, distilling elements from several other genres too until they had created their own identifiable sound, characterised by extremely powerful rhythms, minimal sequenced hooklines and fierce, chanted lyrics.
New music and a new tour have brought the band back together with Doug and Bon joined by Jason Payne (percussion). Some of the new songs already appear on soundtracks and videogames (Saw IV, Saw VI, NCIS, Fringe, Tony Hawk:RIDE). Starting with Mexico City November 7th, Nitzer Ebb will tour throughout North America from November 17 - December 19, 2009, then will head to Europe to meet up with their good friends, Depeche Mode, as the support act from January 9 - February 27, 2010.

46664 is Nelson Mandela’s global HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention campaign. 46664 (four, double six, six four) was Nelson Mandela’s prison number when he was imprisoned on Robben Island, off Cape Town in South Africa. 46664 is a South African-based, independent, not-for-profit entity wholly owned by the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
46664 achieves its objectives through outreach campaigns in Africa and beyond, as well as through the staging of multi-artist concerts, sports and entertainment events and fundraisers. The campaign uses the universal connecting power of music, sport, entertainment and celebrity to educate, engage and empower those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, and draws upon an extensive global network of ambassadors and celebrities.
